Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved with City House. You can join our Coalition, participate in events that raise funds and awareness for City House, or volunteer.
City House Coalition
Just as schools have booster clubs and symphonies have guilds, City House has a coalition! The members of City House Coalition help homeless youth by volunteering and raising community awareness. It’s a fun way to get involved with a cause you care about!
Here are just some of the things Coalition members do:
- Volunteer in one of our facilities rocking babies, playing with the kids from the shelter, mentoring the young adults in our TRIPS program, and more.
- Run or bike to raise funds and awareness for City House.
- Support City House through financial contributions.
- Serve on our Gala Committee.
- Throw a fundraiser of your own! (Contact us for ideas on how to do this.)
What is the commitment to join the Coalition?
The Coalition will have multiple opportunities for involvement; however, there is no obligation to do more than sign up and pay your dues. Your level of involvement is up to you. City House has a very limited staff, so any help you can give through the Coalition will enable us to focus more on providing a warm and caring environment for our young people.
Your contribution could be serving on the planning committees for various fundraising events throughout the year, or it could be serving as a volunteer at the shelters. You could be our community speaker, raising awareness by inviting new members to the Coalition or by advocating for this great cause. How you choose to get involved is entirely up to you. Just lend us your helping hands!
Why should I join the Coalition?
Membership privileges include:
- An invitation and free admission to the City House Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
- Invitations to all City House events
- VIP status at City House that will allow you to receive all agency updates
- A membership directory
- Opportunities to serve on event committees
- And, of course, the opportunity to get involved and change the lives of at-risk children and young adults
What are the membership levels?
We have established four levels of membership:
- Angel (Lifetime Membership): one-time payment of $1,000
- Hero (Annual Membership): $150 a year
- Advocate (Annual Membership): $75 a year
- Friend (For students only – Annual Membership): $40 a year
What are the dues used for?
At City House, 85% of every dollar donated goes directly to help the children we serve. The other 15% of your dues is used to pay Coalition-related expenses such as the price of applications and the membership directory, which will be published at the end of each year.
We have kept the cost of membership low in order to encourage everyone to participate. We even have the “Friend” membership level for students!
