My Friend’s House- Join Us in Building a Dream!

Each year in Collin County, more than 400 vulnerable children are removed from their
homes due to physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, abandonment or neglect.   Sadly,
there are less than 100 foster families in
the county.  As a result, children are often
sent far from their familiar neighborhoods in
 search of emergency shelter.

Join us in building CITY House’s newest project, My Friend’s House, a safe haven to meet the needs of these vulnerable children ages newborn to 9 years old. This project is still in the capital development stages. Take a look at the
Floor Plan.

The goal of the program is to provide traumatized and abused children with a safe place to live while a safer alternative is found.  My Friend’s House will provide emergency care
and shelter to children who have been removed from their unsafe homes.   While they are being provided all the comforts of a caring and safe home, they receive 24 hour care provided by a highly trained staff.  They will also receive medical care, case management services and counseling.  They will be able to attend local schools, participate in therapeutic activities, and have access to friends and family members for visitation.

Living in familiar and safe haven will help these abused and neglected children reduce the
trauma they might experience being so far away from familiar surroundings.  A safe child
is one who can begin the healing process quickly.

"The CITY House shelter and Family Center provide essential services to the children of our community.
If not for CITY House, the intervention that currently takes place would not exist."
