The Family Center offers counseling sessions and therapeutic services conducted by

licensed professionals, as well as Master’s-level students under supervision. Our team of

clinical specialists and therapists provides a variety of services to meet the needs of

any individual, couple, family, or group.

With support from the community, the Family Center is able to provide high-quality

services at low cost to you, based on your ability to pay.

  • Individual Counseling is for individuals who are looking for a one-on-one interaction to talk about specific feelings, thoughts, behaviors and situations in a way to better understand themselves.

  • Group Counseling is for a group of individuals with similar concerns, who meet together with a trained counselor. The counselor leads the group sessions and provides support and guidance.

  • Play Therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. Specifically, Play Therapy encourages the expression of a child’s feelings, experiences, and cognitive functioning through play, and is the most appropriate method of help for children who are having difficulty coping with life situations.

  • Couples Counseling is for two people, usually spouses or partners, who want to build a strong and healthy relationship. Couples can learn new ways to help and support one another during times of stress and difficulty.

  • Family Counseling is based on the idea that an individual is greatly influenced by their family system. Family counseling provides a safe environment, where family members can look at a situation from a different perspective and try new, healthy ways to understand and support each other.

  • Threat Assessments are provided for children who are required by a school to meet with a counselor after a potentially dangerous incident at school has been reported. Counselors work with the student to discuss the event at school, determine the student’s level of risk, and help the student to identify healthy coping methods to use in future situations.
