 CITY House Transitional Living Program

CITY House Transitional Living Program
was founded in 2001 to help young adults who become homeless and wish to live independently, but don’t have the skills or knowledge to succeed on their own.  This program helps them develop the skills and confidence needed to become responsible, productive members of the community, especially when coping with difficult circumstances and relationships.

The Transitional Living Program offers both residential and non-residential services to 16 to 21 year olds who need help transitioning to the responsibilities of adulthood. Services are provided to pregnant, parenting, and homeless young adults. These services include:

  • educational assistance in completing high school or getting their General  Equivalency Diploma (GED)

  • academic opportunities at Collin County Community College

  • job training assistance

  • access to medical and community resources

  • clinical and care management services

  • training in parenting skills

  • training in independent living skills

  • up to 18 months of safe, secure housing

"The CITY House shelter and Family Center provide essential services to the children of our community.
If not for CITY House, the intervention that currently takes place would not exist."
