Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Hourly; Non-Exempt Status

Reports To:  Manager of Clinical Services

General Purpose: This is a Part-Time position providing mental health and counseling services to runaway homeless youth, young adults and families. The services include, but are not limited to, psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and individual, group and family therapy.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide appropriate therapeutic intervention for crisis counseling services, working with youth and families
  2. Schedule individual, and family counseling sessions with clients and their families
  3. Maintain appropriate files on all residential and community clients that include both paperwork and database entry into IRIS
  4. Design and develop therapeutic interventions, including group, individual, and family counseling, to address the therapeutic needs of residential and community clients
  5. Engage families in developing action plans, desired outcomes and goals.
  6. Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to meet the emotional, behavioral, and social needs of all clients, and assist in individual service plans. This includes, but not limited to, assisting in assessments of clients, service planning, discharges, and making referrals
  7. Participate in internal and external program meetings, including client staffing as needed
  8. Represent City House at community events through education and information of services available, as needed
  9. Maintain licensing credentials as required and attend required trainings
  10. Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory standards/requirements
  11. Report any suspicion of child abuse within a 24-hour period
  12. Set high standard for professional, technical, personal conduct and competence including upholding Social Work Code of Ethics
  13. Emphasize safety to keep employee injury to a minimum.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  1. Master's degree in social work with a LCSW licensure
  2. Minimum of three years of experience working with children, youth, and/or young adults in a therapeutic setting or related experience.
  3. Knowledge of issues related to youth homelessness, youth abuse/neglect, family conflict, teenage pregnancy, LGBTQ issues, life skills, child development and competency based approach to working with youth.
  4. Valid driver's license and insurance.
  5. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Effective organizational skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision if necessary.
  6. Responsible for maintaining own liability insurance
  7. Willing to complete background checks and drug screening
  8. This position is funded through state and federal grants and is subject to termination if funding ceases.

Working Conditions:

  1. Exposure to residents who may have high behavioral needs which could lead to physical and verbal aggression. Possible exposure to the hazards of a home environment, related to household activities, cleaning agents, and food preparation. Exposure to illnesses and blood is a possibility.
  2. This position is funded through state and federal grants and is subject to termination if funding ceases.
