When you invest in City House, you are investing in the future of the agency and the lives of our at-risk youth. There are lots of ways you can support our efforts – write a check, make a donation of needed equipment or supplies, make a bequest as part of your estate planning process, join one of our organizations – and other ways you can materially contribute to the care of children and the young adults in our care.

There are many other things besides money that you can donate to help kids in need. City House can accept gifts in just about any form. In addition to cash donations, you can give:
Gift cards – Visa, AMEX, MC, Discover Gift cards in any amount gives our staff the flexibility to buy online, or to make specific purchases from repairs, to gas, to needs specific to one of our residents in an emergency. Store Gift cards from Target and Walmart are also greatly in need.
Wholesome Food Essentials - (My Friend’s House is a peanut free home. No peanut butter or products containing peanuts will be accepted).
My Friend's House meals are prepared daily, on site. Canned goods of any size are good. Any snacks should be individual snack-pack sizes for a child's lunch box or backpack.
Baby Food: Gerber Seconds only.
Formula: Enfamil products only, powder preferred for freshness.
Household Needs: New bed pillows, toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, garbage bags, Tide HE laundry detergent, household cleaning supplies, powdered laundry detergent, Spray & Wash, dryer sheets, and various cleaning supplies Personal Items: Tuition assistance, new laptop computers, gasoline gift cards, and cell phone pre-paid minutes cards. Entertainment: Gift cards and tickets for sporting events, movies, fast food restaurants, concerts, museums, plays, amusement parks, bowling, and skating. You can also donate current music and DVDs.
Office Supplies: Copier paper (8.5 x 11 bright white), green hanging folders, 1” and 2” binders, manila envelopes, staplers, staples, paper clips, Post-it notes, pens, markers, etc.
Please call the Administration Office (972-424-4626) before dropping off any donation to check our current needs.
Due to limitation in storage space, we are only accepting specific items listed above. If you are interested in doing a Donation Drive on behalf of City House, please call the Administration Office to discuss our current needs and the donation procedure. Perishable items should be delivered directly to the Children’s shelter, My Friend’s House. All other donations should be delivered to our Administrative Office, at 901 18th St., Plano, TX 75074

Extensions of corporate philanthropy, matching gift programs are designed to be the means by which companies support employee charitable giving. Companies match donations made by employees to a wide range of nonprofits.
Matching Gifts: Combining the Power of Individuals with Companies
Matching gifts elevate the capability of your contributions. One donation is always welcome. Two donations for the work of acquiring one seem too good to be true. It’s not. Matching gifts give nonprofits that exact opportunity.
Companies big, small, and everything in between, match gifts. Most programs are not only generous about giving money, but are willing to donate to a broad spectrum of organization types.
Approximately 2/3 of companies with matching gift programs match employee donations to nearly any 501(c)(3) organization or educational institution.
Inquire with your human resource or benefits manager at your company they should be delighted to explain what their policy and process is.
In Memoriam and In Honorarium
In Memoriam or In Honorarium Gifts You can support children's advocacy by giving an Honor Donation to City House as a gift in memory of someone special or to celebrate an important event. You can give an Honor Donation for almost any occasion, like: Funerals, Weddings, Graduations, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Get Well.
Planned Giving and Estate Planning
Planned Giving, is defined as a method of supporting non-profits and charities that enables philanthropic individuals or donors to make larger donations from their income.
What are the 3 types of planned gifts?
- First, outright gifts that use appreciated assets as a substitute for cash;
- Second, gifts that return income or other financial benefits to the donor in return for the contribution;
- Third, gifts payable upon the donor’s death.
While some planned gifts provide a life-long income to the donor, others use estate and tax planning techniques to provide for charity and other heirs in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on the donor's estate.
Thus, by definition, a planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning.
Whether a donor uses cash, appreciated securities/stock, real estate, artwork, partnership interests, personal property, life insurance, a retirement plan, etc., the benefits of funding a planned gift can make this type of charitable giving very attractive to both donor and charity.
Gifting appreciated securities to City House, can be managed through your Financial services firm, with a request to donate the specific securities to, City House, through USAA Investment Management.

Supporting our Annual Gala
Our annual City House Gala is the biggest fundraiser we do each year. Whether a business or individual sponsorship your investment is 100% tax deductible to the extent of the law.

Go Grocery Shopping and Give Back to City House!
All you have to do is shop at Tom Thumb and provide this form or Kroger and provide this form to your store and they will link your card to City House and a percentage will come back to City House. It costs you NOTHING other than the money you were going to spend on groceries anyway!
Party with a Purpose!
Host your own event in support of City House! All you have to do is include information on how to donate to City House in the invitation and also at the event. And if you let us know at least two weeks in advance, you can have a City House representative speak at your event. Types of events include: Birthday parties, Wine tastings and dinner parties in your home, Ladies Tea, Anniversary Party, Backyard Barbecue’s, just about any occasion when you be comfortable asking guests to bring a donation.
