City House a designated Safe Place®
National Safe Place® is designed for youth under 18 years who are feeling unsafe and need immediate help. City House is the designed safe place for Collin and Denton County.
Why Does Safe Place® Matter? This Is Why
“A 17-year-old teen accessed a Safe Place site and was connected to City House, where he entered emergency shelter and was linked to supportive services.
With stability and guidance, he completed 12th grade and graduated early.
He has since been enrolled in a trade school and will be starting classes soon.”
— Olivia, Emergency Shelter Case Manager
How It Works
Certain locations are marked with a yellow Safe Place sign (you’ll see it at places like QT gas stations, YMCAs, and medical centers). A young person can walk in and ask for help. Staff will connect them with a trained youth outreach organization.
You can also text “SAFE” + your location (city/state/ZIP) to 44357 in the U.S.
Or use the Safe Place website/app to find the nearest location.
