Our Approach

City House is committed to providing hands-on experience for undergraduate and graduate Social Work students. Our internship program offers valuable hands-on experience in working with children involved in the CPS system, those experiencing homelessness, nonprofit work, and trauma informed care.

Essential Information

  • Internship opportunities are offered for undergraduate and graduate social work students. We do not accept other degree programs currently.

  • Weekly availability will need to be between the hours of 9-5; No evening or weekend hours

  • Please note that this is an unpaid internship

Gain experience in:

  • Child Welfare

  • Youth experiencing homelessness

  • Case Management

  • Crisis Intervention

  • Conducting assessments, interviews & intakes

  • Clinical Skills, including individual, family & group work

  • Trauma-Informed Care, including TBRI Treatment Model

  • Team Collaboration

  • Micro, Mezzo & Macro opportunities

Requirements:

  • Set up and attend an in-person interview

  • Pass a criminal background check

  • Negative TB Test

  • Participate in a mandatory one-day orientation prior to beginning the internship

  • Participate in weekly supervision activities, including individual & group supervision
